Gentle Beginnings Birth & Wellness Center

Malloree Gray

Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Midwife

Hi! I’m Malloree Gray. I am first & foremost a follower of Christ. I am wife to Jordan, mom to Jaden, Selah, & Josiah. We are due in September 2017 with our daughter, Everly Ann, and we are planning a home birth. I’m a Georgia native & have lived in Texas since 2011. I am a member of the North Texas Midwives. I have a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University, where I am also a Zeta Tau Alpha alum. I began my apprenticeship at Gentle Beginnings in September of 2013. I was trained under the instruction & wisdom of Ann Crowell, CPM, LM & Michele Massey, CPM, LM. I have attended over 100 births since 2013 as both assistant & primary student under supervision. I passed my licensing exam with the North American Registry of Midwives in January 2017.

My first experience with midwifery came when my niece was born in 2012. I was newly married with no children of my own yet. My sister was having a VBAC with Ann & I got to watch firsthand the level of care, wisdom, skill, & talent that these midwives give to their clients during their pregnancy & birth. I knew that when I got pregnant, I wanted to use a midwife. Flash forward a couple months & I found myself pregnant. Surprise! Of course, my first call was to Gentle Beginnings to set up an interview with Ann. I had such personal care during my pregnancy and an amazing birth center birth. I’ll never forget just how empowered I felt, knowing what I had just done. The Lord used my experience to stir something up in me. I had always desired to work in healthcare, but I didn’t know in what capacity. It was clear as day that this was to be something I needed to pursue. I have since had my other son, Josiah, at home & his birth was just as empowering as Jaden’s!

Once my oldest son was 6 months old, I began my apprenticeship with Ann. I learned so much about the sanctity of birth, how to best care for women during the most vulnerable time in their lives, what it means to be “with woman,” which is what midwife means. I learned how powerful you truly are, & how amazing birth can be when we do not unnecessarily intervene & let you birth how you were created to.

Under supervision, I have helped deliver my second niece and several of my friends babies. What a joy to be able to witness the strength of the women truly closest to me & to share in such an intimate time with them!

I believe that knowledge and encouragement are key. They give the you the confidence to do what you were made to do. I consider it a great honor to be at every birth I attend. The ability, strength, & courage of our clients never ceases to amaze me.

I would love to walk with you through your pregnancy & birth & look forward to meeting with you!
