Foodie Friday - Cashew Maple Milk

As a mom, you’re bound to hear lots of conflicting advice and information (it’s the best part of motherhood, right?) This seems to be especially true when it relates to what you’re eating, or what you’re feeding your baby. You never know if you’re getting the right scoop!

If you plan to or are exclusively breastfeeding (ebf), you may hear clashing info on whether the foods you eat affect your baby. I can only speak on my experience on this issue, being that what I consume definitely affects Lennon’s mood & digestive system. 

 

 

A lot of new moms’ find they have to cut dairy from their diet because of how terribly it makes their baby feel. Whether it be a dairy sensitivity or full blown allergy- it’s pretty common for this reaction to happen. Nut milks are an excellent alternative to combat this- it’s also much healthier. 

The awesome part about plant based milks are that you don’t have to make it if you don’t want. Now a days, most grocery stores are filled with delicious milk alternatives.

The prep & steps are nearly identical, so if you’ve made our almond milk, this will be a breeze.

What you’ll need

  • 1 C plain, unsalted Cashews
  • Water
  • 1 Date
  • 1/2 tsp maple extract 
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup 
  • Pinch of Salt
  • High speed blender 
  • Nut milk bag or very fine strainer
